ABOUT US

Meet the siblings!

We are brother and sister, Louis & Giorgia Webb from South Yorkshire. We come from an equestrian family (hence our logo!) - horses are a common thread in our lives, bonding us from childhood into adulthood. Giorgia is an Equine Yard Manager based in the Cotswolds and Louis is a Farrier working across South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

We had very adventurous childhoods which has followed us into adulthood. You only live once, so live life to the full and try everything! Hence why we chose our team’s name, “One Row, Live It.” The flame of adventure was kindled when we made the decision to attempt such a challenge, and the best part is that we can help raise vital funds for charity whilst undertaking this epic journey.

LOUIS

Age 26

The spirit of adventure was pushed further for Louis whilst he was in the Royal Air Force Air Cadets. He attended many trips away and took part in activities such as shooting, flying, coasteering, and international marches, as well as achieving his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Louis is not shy of a challenge; he decided he wanted to be a Farrier and after 5 years of training, he qualified on his first attempt achieving the highest theory score in the UK that year, earning him a Distinction.

He was mesmerised after watching “Through Hell and High Water” in 2007, a TV program that followed Ben Fogle and James Cracknell where they rowed across the Atlantic Ocean. This is what would inspire him to enter the same challenge many years later.

Louis says he's both 'excited and terrified' but that’s what makes it a challenge! One Life, Live It! He's quickly realising how much work is involved preparing for such a journey - 'Just getting to the start line is a daunting challenge alone, but luckily we have lots of support from the Atlantic Campaigns team as well as our friends and family'.

Giorgia

Age 29

Giorgia qualified from Bishop Burton College back in 2012 and then decided to move from Yorkshire to the Cotswolds where she still resides today. She is an Equine Yard Manager and has competed in most equine sports; her recent venture is in Point-2-Point racing with her horse, Ben.

She loves a challenge - from sailing the coast of Australia, to skydiving and even wing walking!

Giorgia says 'I had a phone call one evening from Louis asking if I wanted to do a challenge with him, but I was never expecting him to ask me to row across the Atlantic Ocean 3000 miles! This is massively fulfilling yet brutal challenge. Who would have thought crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a rowing boat was possible? We are so focused on making sure we are as mentally and physically fit as possible, to give crossing 3000 miles of fierce, hot and diverse Atlantic Ocean our best shot!'.
